CompassClean Certification is a tangible way of demonstrating you are providing the safest possible environment for customers and staff. Started by leaders in the commercial cleaning field, being CompassClean shows you go beyond basic guidelines, ensuring every table and surface is cleaned following industry-leading best practices, with the right chemicals and standards of practice to create the safest possible dining experience.
Displaying the CompassClean emblem on your website, marketing, and around your establishment will inspire the trust potential patrons are seeking at this time. They'll know you are going above and beyond to keep them safe and healthy.
Becoming Compass Certified Clean?
Being a CompassClean establishment provides a clear and declarative differentiator to let your customers know you go the extra mile to provide a clean, safe environment. You’re establishment will be protected through a combination of staff training, regular disinfection and protective deep cleaning.
You will also be covered with the CompassClean seal, enabling you to proudly profess your efforts to customers still concerned about getting out in public places. Whether on your website, menus, entrances or right on each table, you’ll be provided with a range of marketing support tools designed to build confidence that you are a CompassClean facility.
Providing a safe restaurant environment requires a different definition of clean with a focus beyond food safety. Surfaces must be constantly disinfected, sanitized and ready for your guests. We provide the knowledge and support, based on years of experience working with restaurants, to accomplish this. Our four step program is designed to provide the most comprehensive cleaning and disinfecting possible.
Just wiping down tables is no longer enough. Through staff training and continually evolving best practices, you'll have the knowledge and processes in place to ensure every time a table turns over, it's properly disinfected and ready for the next diners.
These are procedures that need to be adhered to that are non-table related. Door handles, restrooms, serving stations, etc. Again Compass would train restaurant staff on products, tools, processes and key areas along with how often those areas are addressed.
This is where Compass would step in and clean nightly, professionally cleaning and disinfecting floors, restrooms, bar areas, patio furniture as well as all major touchpoints. The Compass standard 'Cleaning for Health' protocols would apply at all times.
Additional disinfection procedures on weekly and Monthly basis provided by Compass, including electrostatic application of the most effective disinfectants and antimicrobial sealants for an extra layer of safety and health.

What is the advantage to me?
As a member of CompassClean you and other member companies are demonstrating a higher level of community responsibility than non-members. The social proof you provide to others in the community sets you apart and instills confidence in your establishment. In addition, you have the confidence that you are doing as much as possible to protect your staff and customers.
What will Compass do that we won’t?
As professional Commercial Janitorial company with years of restaurant experience, Compass can give your staff insights and training on techniques and processes as well as proper product use to insure you will get the best results when we are not present. Each night Compass will professionally disinfect and clean your entire front of house, not just tables and touch points. Additionally, we will make available to you electrostatic application of disinfectants and antimicrobial sealers for longer protection periods.
What exactly does this do to instill confidence in the public?
In a word it is social proof. When the public is fearful of contracting a virus, whether COVID 19 or some other unknown virus, this program and your participation in it, is demonstrating your awareness and concern for their welfare, but more importantly you are willing to take extraordinary steps to actually protect them. These steps set you apart from others who are unwilling to take the same action on behalf of the community.
What does it cost?
There is no cost to you to become CompassClean Certified. This program was designed to support your business, whether you are a church or a school, a restaurant or salon and to promote your commitment to the health and safety of your constituents whether it be your staff, customers or guests in your facility.
How does the plan work?
Initially we will train your staff on best practices and how to ‘Clean for Health’. This is a partnership, you have your part, we have ours. We will provide checklists specific to your establishment to be completed on regular schedules by your staff. We will provide a detailed specifications list that will outline what Compass will do nightly to support your efforts during open hours. We will also provide a list for additional services we will provide either on a weekly or monthly basis.
Compass will also provide promotional materials to be strategically added around the public areas of your establishment that will support the efforts you are taking to protect the community. These would include a CompassClean Certification seal for entry doors, as well as table materials and signage throughout. We will also provide continuing education as new processes or products become available.
What products do we need and what tools?
You will need a disinfectant capable of killing virus' and bacteria within 90 seconds. Microfiber towels (380 GWM or greater), and spray bottles (32oz.) primarily. Other products may be introduced as necessary.
Where do we get the products and tools?
Compass will provide the proper products and tools to be used by your staff at a reduced cost to you.
What is chlorine dioxide?
Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a yellow-green gas with an odor similar to chlorine with excellent distribution, penetration and sterilization abilities due to its gaseous nature. Although chlorine dioxide has chlorine in its name, its properties are very different, much like carbon dioxide is different from elemental carbon. Chlorine dioxide has been recognized as a disinfectant since the early 1900s and has been approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for many applications. It has been demonstrated effective as a broad spectrum, anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, fungicidal, and virucidal agent, as well as a deodorizer.
What is an electrostatic gun? Why is it important?
An electrostatic gun is simply a device that vaporizes liquid into tiny droplets and infuses those droplets with an electrical charge. The importance of this process for the delivery of disinfectants and other agents is in the coverage and size of the droplets. If you were to use a conventional sprayer, not only would the liquid droplets be larger, they would often bunch or pile up depending on the consistency of the operator's pattern of spraying.
An electrostatic gun charges smaller droplets with a positive charge. This effectively repels droplets away from one another, like two positive ends of two magnets repelling each other. However, like magnets, opposites attract. In this case the surfaces of a desk or phone or wall or carpet have negative or neutral charges which actually attract the droplets. This positive-negative reaction creates an even coating and ensures complete coverage of every surface in a building.
